Assistant Director & Executive Producer: Kaye Jernigan
Synopsis: This story chronicles Georgia Washington's journey to achieve her dreams. After graduating from Hampton University, she overcomes many obstacles to open her own school in the village of Mount Meigs in 1893. She rented a 12-foot-by-13-foot cabin and opened the Public's Village School to four boys.
The school was a pillar in the community and educated hundreds of black children during a time when education was not readily accessible.

The school continued even after Washington's death and became Georgia Washington High School in her honor.
